  Revelations that the University of Louisville basketball program is being  investigated as part of a federal corruption probe have shaken up college sports and caused the firing of UofL’s basketball coach.

Louisville has placed coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich on administrative leave amid a federal bribery investigation.

Jurich is on paid leave, while Pitino is on unpaid leave. The coach's attorney, Steve Spence, told the Courier-Journal today that Louisville has "effectively fired" Pitino.
