The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team kept its perfect home record intact with a win over Manhattan Tuesday.  It came in part because of a quick Colonel start to the game.

    The Eastern Kentucky University Colonels have found playing on the road a tough task so far this season.  The men’s team fell to one and six away from home following an 84 to 59 loss to West Virginia Monday Night.  It was a better day for the EKU women’s team and the Western Kentucky football team.

EKU led early in its game with the mountaineers of the Big 12 conference.  But, a 40 to eight run for West Virginia to close out the first half was something Eastern could never recover from in the second half.

Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky met for the 12th time on the basketball court last night.  And, for the 12th time, the Wildcats came out the victor.

UK jumped out to a sizeable 12 to 2 lead early in the game.  Eastern fought back to close within one at just under 14 minutes in the first half before trailing by 14 at the break.  The Colonels would whittle the Wildcat lead down to six in the second half but a big burst of scoring by Kentucky down the stretch made the final score 88 to 67.

Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky will meet on the basketball court tonight.  It’s the 12th meeting for the Colonels and the Wildcats. UK comes into the game again as a heavy favorite.

EKU travels to Rupp Arena sporting a seven and two record.  UK is seven and one, coming off a ten point loss to UCLA.  The Colonels are ranked sixth nationally in scoring offense and in field goal percentage.  The Wildcats, with another strong freshman class, were ranked first nationally before losing last week.

Eastern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University will tangle on the basketball court Tuesday. This marks the 156th time the Colonels have battled the Hilltoppers.

Not only does Western have 112 wins over Eastern in men’s basketball, but WKU has also won the last dozen matchups.  The last time the Colonels one-upped the Hilltoppers was a two point victory in 1987 during the coach Max Good era. 

EKU Beats Thomas More in Rare Afternoon Weekday Contest

In a rare mid week afternoon game, the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels took to the hardwood. EKU proved too strong for Thomas More College.

Eclipsing the 100 point mark for the third time this season, Eastern defeated Thomas More 101 to 67 at McBrayer Arena. Freshman big man Nick Mayo led Colonel scoring with 21 points as EKU picked up its fourth straight win. Thomas More fell to one and two. Eastern concludes a stretch of five home games Saturday afternoon. in taking on Southern Utah.

EKU Wins on Last Second Shot at Coppin State

The Eastern Kentucky University Colonels got a last second win Tuesday.  The winning basket came from an EKU junior playing in his hometown.  Back in Baltimore, Colonel guard Denzel Richardson hit a three pointer with less than a second to lift EKU to a 66-63 win over Coppin State.  Eastern’s Corey Walden tied his career best with a game high 33 points.  As the clock wound down, Walden was under the basket, but couldn’t get a shot off.  So, he found Richardson in the corner for the game winner.  EKU moves to seven and five on the year.  The Colonels return home this Saturday for the final

EKU Takes to the Court Monday After Historic Win at Miami

Coming off one of their biggest wins in team history, Eastern Kentucky University takes to the court Monday night, again in Florida. 

The EKU men's team handed 18th ranked University of Miami a 28 point loss Friday night.  It was their first win over a top 25 team in more than a half century.  In 1959, the Colonels defeated number seven North Carolina State by two points.  Tonight Eastern will go up against Florida Atlantic in Boca Rotan.  Tip-off is set for 7pm.

The Eastern Kentucky University basketball Colonels hit the hardwood Friday night for their first contest of the season. EKU enters this season as the defending Ohio Valley Conference Champion.

Eastern Kentucky University’s first contest in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament will likely have both teams recalling their previous match just over a month ago.  

 The E-K-U men's team takes on Southeast Missouri State Thursday evening in Nashville.  Last month, the Colonels’ Glenn Cosey hit a 40-foot bank shot with time running out to secure a one point Eastern win.
