Rally Held in Conjunction with National Day of Action Against Police Brutality

A diverse group of people marched and rallied Wednesday night in downtown Lexington in recognition of the National Day of Action Against Police Brutality.

Participants gathered first near Lexington's William Wells Brown Elementary School.  Among them, Molly Van Zant, who wore a front and back corrugated sign of names from across the country.  "I am wearing a list of some of people who have been killed by law enforcement recently, men and women," said Van Zant.

As the annual observance of Ramadan draws to a close, on this week’s show, we’ll focus on the basics of Islam with our guests, Richard Cahill, PhD, Director of International Education and Associate Professor of History at Berea College, and Ishan Bagby, PhD, Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Kentucky, as well as board member of Masjib Bilal, one of three mosques located in Lexington.
