An Easter weekend broadcast on both WEKU and Classic 102.1 brought a couple of responses on our Listener Comment Line.
Caller # 1: “Thanks so much for the Easter performance of the Messiah. Wonderfully done. Please do repeat these kind of things on WEKU.”
Caller #2: “That was the most powerful, powerful, powerful performance I have ever heard, of the Messiah. And I thank you for it so much.”
By e-mail, Randy in Danville continued the theme, writing, “Sunday night’s broadcast …was great music, historically performed and spiritually perfect for those of us who are traditional Christians.”
Randy included thanks to Music Director Michael Carter, who was responsible for putting together the broadcast of last month’s performance by the chamber choir of Choral Arts Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra, Tempesta di Mare.
On Facebook, Natalie posted the following on our Timeline, “Performance Today: knowing it's on is Comfort with a capital "C". Thank you for one of the consistently best programs on radio, year after year.”
We're grateful for all the comments and invite you to keep letting us know what you think. E-mail us at WEKU at EKU.edu. Post on our Facebook page or call our Listener Comment Line, 859-622-1657. We’ll gladly keep your comment anonymous but please be sure to leave your name and callback information.
You may have heard the announcements about a ticket giveaway for the “live” cinecast of Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me on May 2nd. We’re asking for “likes” or comments on our posts about it on Facebook as a way of entering the drawing. If you make a comment there, it may, of course, end up on the radio when you tune in next Monday at this time for Listener Feedback on 88.9 WEKU.
