Israeli-born Itzhak Perlman is known as one of the preeminent violinists of the 20th and early 21st centuries. Following a 2011 performance with the University of Kentucky Symphony, he returns this Sunday to open the orchestra’s 2012-13 season.
Symphony Director John Nardolillo is pleased to once again work with this highly visible icon of classical music.
Itzhak Perlman will perform Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto and Dvorák's Symphony No. 9 (From the New World). His visit to Lexington comes on the heels of season-opening engagements with the New York Philharmonic and the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as last week’s appearance on Comedy Central’s “Colbert Report.”
Tickets for Sunday night’s show are available at the Singletary Center Box Office online at www.uky.edu/scfa.
