Veteran Receives Medals 66 Years Later

World War II veteran Alvin Wilson Jr. couldn’t figure out how they pulled it off. More than 60 years after he was discharged from the U.S. Army following World War II, Wilson received his final medals from the war recently, in a ceremony that included his children, grandchildren and his wife. “I didn’t know anything about it,” the 88-year-old Wilson said. “Everyone knew about it but me. I couldn’t believe it.”
