Lexington’s annual public celebration of Halloween brought thousands into the city’s downtown Saturday.
As WEKU’s John Hingsbergen reports, this year marked the 15th annual re-creation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Dozens of dancers dressed as the late “King of Pop” and hundreds of zombies took over Main Street in downtown Lexington Saturday night.
Sponsored in part by Lexington Parks and Recreation, it’s been named a top 10 Halloween destination by USA Today.
The summer-like weather made for near-perfect conditions for the evening event as well as the Wicked Wonders Art Market in the city’s Cheapside Park.
This year’s addition to the celebration with the Farmer’s Market featured plenty of art with themes appropriate for the Halloween season.
The Thriller dance followed the annual Halloween parade down Lexington’s Main Street featuring ghosts, ghouls, superheroes, villains and costumed characters of all kinds.
