The maximum number of horses race Saturday in Keeneland’s Bluegrass Stakes.  Post positions in the prep race for the Kentucky Derby were selected today in Lexington.

Third from the inside, morning line favorite “Uncaptured” starts the betting at 7-2.  But, Keeneland Handicapper Mike Battaglia gave only a slight edge to the brown colt from Canada.  Battaglia also see contenders in two Kentucky-breds, Java’s War and Rydilluc.

“Rydalluc drew the outside, 13, and Java’s War got a good post, so I just left them the way they were. Anyone of those three could be favorite, wouldn’t surprise me,” said Battaglia.

Battaglia set the odds on Rydilluc and Java’s War at 4-1.  In its 89 year history, the Bluegrass Stakes has raced 14 horses just twice.  And both contests were won by the favorite.  Post time for the mile and an eighth race is Saturday evening at 6:18.
