Winter across Kentucky returns to reality tonight. Gone will be the spring-like conditions of recent days as light snow showers will fall across much of the state. No significant accumulations are expected, according to the National Weather Service office in Louisville.
According to the weather office in Paducah, rain will arrive tonight in Western Kentucky and probably change over to light snow after midnight. The snow showers will end Wednesday morning. And the region could see some areas of light freezing drizzle, the NWS said.
Snowfall amounts will be minor and no major traffic impacts are expected, the NWS said.
The Louisville weather service office predicts light snow will spread over Central Kentucky after midnight tonight. The dusting of snow is expected on grassy and elevated surfaces by morning, NWS said.
In Eastern Kentucky, the Jackson office of the NWS said snow showers are possible late tonight but with little or no accumulation predicted. Snow showers could continue Wednesday morning in the region with up to 1 inch possible in areas above 2,500 feet.
