An approaching cold front could create some scattered thunderstorms that might hit the greater Louisville area and parts of Central Kentucky during the overnight period early Thursday. Some of the storms could become severe, according to the National Weather Service. The greatest danger would be high winds, NWS said.
The highest chance for the storms is between 2 and 8 a.m. EDT, although a few scattered storms could hit as early as late afternoon or early evening, according to the weather service. Rainfall amounts could range between a half-inch and up to 2 inches.
Wednesday's high is predicted to be about 96 while Thursday's high will fall to 86, thanks to the cold front.
