Dozens of diehard Kentucky Wildcat fans have already taken up temporary residence outside Memorial Coliseum for Big Blue Madness tickets. Glen Mathis of Northern Kentucky is one of the many perennial campers. "We've got tents and sleeping bags, a cooler with some drinks, cornhole boards and cornhole bags. We just plan to have a good time", he said.
This is Mathis' third consecutive year doing the campout thing. He says he has reached an understanding of sorts with his employer; a local trucking company.
"We plan on being here, now how work views that if it's vacation time or if I'm missing in action, that kind of varies from year to year or day to day."
Mathis says others in his group will hold his place in line so he can put in a few hours on the job.
Big Blue Madness tickets officially go on sale Saturday morning at 7. The event, which ushers in a new UK basketball season, takes place Friday night October 14th at Rupp Arena.
