Patti A. Clay Hospital becomes Baptist Health Richmond

Sep 7, 2012

Patti A. Clay Hospital, which has been a part of the Richmond community since 1892, is entering a new era.  Hospital CEO Todd Jones says the Madison County Healthcare facility is changing its name and joining a regional network.

“So the hospital is transitioning to become a full member of the Baptist Health system here in Kentucky,” said Jones.

The hospital now carries the name Baptist Health Richmond.  Jones says they’ve also asked state regulators to allow the creation of a cardiac intervention program at the renamed hospital.

“We believe that Madison Countians should not have to leave Madison County for life saving treatment when they have a heart attack.  Right now they have to be transferred to Lexington to receive the standard of care to get cardiac interventions,” said Jones.

If approved by the state, Baptist Health Richmond could launch the cardiac program early next year.  The Richmond healthcare provider becomes the sixth hospital in the Baptist Health system.
