Nation's Attorneys-General Condemn Retailer
Top prosecutors in 23 states, including Kentucky’s attorney general, are condemning a national retailer. Despite the criticism, Urban Outfitters continues to sell flasks and shot glasses that look like prescription pill bottles.
Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway is not alone in his criticism. Also asking Urban Outfitters to remove its “Prescription Line” of glasses, coasters and mugs, is Ohio’s attorney general and at least one Kentucky congressman. Conway condemns the product, saying it makes light of an epidemic that kills over a thousand Kentuckians each year. He says prescription drugs are now the leading accidental killer of teenagers in the US. The attorneys-general have also asked customers to file complaints with the Philadelphia-based company. Urban Outfitters has stores in Louisville and Cincinnati.
