Missouri Shop Makes Cicada Ice Cream

Good morning. I'm Linda Wertheimer.

Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream shop in Columbia, Missouri tried a new take on seasonal flavors - brown sugar chocolate cicadas. Columbia's 13-year cicadas came out this summer, and Sparky's tried adding them to ice cream. It sold out immediately, but the health department advised against boiling up a new batch of bugs. Maybe in 2024.
