Millions in Fake Goods Seized at Airport
Customs officers seized almost $5.4 million in ball caps, purses, watches and other counterfeit products last week during a crackdown at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The campaign by U.S. Customs and Border Protection comes a year after a similar but longer operation netted $21 million in knockoff products at the airport. Customs officials say the two operations show counterfeit imports have become such a problem at the airport that they may need to beef up inspections, possibly by adding more officers to help with a more aggressive examination of imported products.
