Lexington Mayor Jim Gray is making it clear he would like to serve another term leading Urban County government.  With the election almost two years away, the 59 year old Gray announced his intention to seek re-election last night at Buster’s.  It was the Manchester Street business where Gray and his supporters celebrated his mayoral victory two years ago.

Gray told those gathered last night he’s been asked about his plans.  The mayor says he’s responded that those inquiries by saying, ‘Well, actually, I’m here to tell you I love getting things done, tackling tough problems, and I want to stay on the job, so I’m running for re-election in 2014.”  In his news release, deficit reduction, job creation, and downtown economic development are cited as accomplishments over the past couple of years.
