Massie Enters Early, Tries to Avoid "Fiscal Cliff'
One week after winning a seat in Congress, Thomas Massie will go from his peaceful Lewis County farm to the middle of the high-stakes showdown at the nation’s Capitol over the national debt and avoiding the “fiscal cliff.” Massie will take the oath of office on Tuesday to succeed U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis, who resigned July 31 citing family health issues. Massie will take the oath of office earlier than others who won in the general election because he also won the special election to fill Davis’ unexpired term that ends Dec. 31.
