Live Friday: Joseph Arthur In Concert

Joseph Arthur began singing at age 21, although his fondness for music and the guitar began earlier than that. Having grown up in Akron, Ohio, Arthur relocated to Atlanta for its thriving music scene, and eventually made his way to Brooklyn. Peter Gabriel discovered Arthur in the late 1990s, and the songwriter's career began to take off.

Over the years, Arthur has built a large and adoring following. He's released eight studio albums and numerous EPs, and collaborated with Ben Harper and Dhani Harrison to form a supergroup called Fistful of Mercy. And, as if that weren't enough, he's found time to build a personal art gallery. Arthur is a visual artist who regularly produces his own cover art and uses his personal paintings for set backgrounds.

Arthur's latest album, The Graduation Ceremony, just came out on his own label, Lonely Astronaut, and you'll surely hear some of its songs during Friday's midday show at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. Listen in live as it happens.
