Lexington’s second Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association event is this weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park.  The Rotary Club-sponsored event is sure to catch the eye of one local photographer.

In its first two-day rodeo a year ago, the state’s only PRCA-sanctioned event drew a good crowd.  Among those taking in the inaugural competition was Lexington photographer Virginia Carter.  She plans on attending again this weekend and the reason is simple.   “It involves animals and it involves people and it involves an extreme sport and it means a great time for everybody across the spectrum.”

The Lexington Rodeo runs Friday and Saturday evening at the horse park and will include cowboy events like saddle bronc riding, bull riding, and steer wrestling along with mutton bustin’ and calf scramble for kids.
