The Republican who’s assumed the duties of Kentucky’s Senate President is content with her current position in G-O-P leadership. Her colleagues last week picked northern Kentucky Senator Katie Stine to take-over until January. That’s when the full senate will pick a permanent replacement for David Williams…who’s taken a judicial appointment. Stine says she’s not interested in that job now.
“Oh, you know, no one can really see the future. I’ve worked very well with Senator Stivers in his capacity as floor leader, so I think we have a really good leadership team,” said Stine.
Stine has experience leading the senate. She would regularly take the gavel from former Senate President David Williams so he could address other matters. The heir apparent to Williams is Manchester Republican Robert Stivers.
