Kentuckians re-elected incumbent congressmen in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th districts. In the 1st and 2nd Districts, incumbent Republicans Ed Whitfield and Brett Guthrie had large leads. Few precincts had reported officially, but those results were not expected to change. U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, one of only two Democrats in the state's congressional delegation, defeated Republican Brooks Wicker and Robert DeVore, who ran as an independent, to keep his 3rd District seat.
