An attorney for a former Kentucky State Police trooper injured on duty in Barren County 11 years ago went before the Kentucky Court of Appeals on Thursday to ask the court to overturn a lower court’s decision dismissing his suit against a former Barren County sheriff and deputy. The three-judge panel of appeals court judges heard oral arguments Thursday at the Warren County Justice Center from attorneys representing former trooper Jason Cross, former Barren County Sheriff Barney Jones and Leland Cox, who served as a deputy under Jones. Cross sued Cox and Jones in connection with a Sept. 3, 2000, incident in Barren County.
