Feedback: Reactions to "Terrible" Technical Trouble
From the Listener Comment Line last Sunday, "It's 7:36 Sunday morning, Bob Edwards Weekend. The first segment was excellent about graduation. The second segment is a re-run from last week. How can you do this? This is terrible!"
We believe what this listener heard was the first sign of serious problems with the computer system that plays back much of our programming. We are grateful for the calls, emails and Facebook posts that helped us react quickly.
Meanwhile, Bob from Lexington emailed, "Technical difficulties" on Sunday afternoon, forced you to substitute your scheduled programming with some ad hoc Jazz selections to fill the air-time. Let’s hope that there are many more episodes of "technical difficulties.” The Jazz programming was outstanding. We need more of it. And don't tell me that I can get all the Jazz I need by simply staying awake from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am and listen to your sister station in Lawrenceburg.”
One of our Facebook friends, Claire, posted after this past week’s Eastern Standard show with EKU Center for the Arts Director Joel Aalberts. She described it as “excellent,” commenting, “Sounds like the EKU Center is going to do some really great and innovative things. Joel talked about upcoming performers who will go out into the community and/or spend time working with EKU students. Good stuff.”
Meanwhile, listener Daniel of Richmond, tweeted, “The fact that EKU Center showed a documentary about UK basketball last fall was very disappointing.” He went on to make it clear that his concern is based on the fact that, “This is EKU, not UK. Eastern, and the city of Richmond, have a hard enough time stepping out of UK and Lexington's shadow.”
