Here’s an email we received last week from a listener choosing to remain anonymous.
He starts out with, “Aaaargh!!.”
He goes on to write, “Listener Feedback is the most painful part of Monday morning! It's even worse than the review of the weekend Trump tweets.
Can you move it back to, like, 3:45am so we don't have to listen to every gawdawful cranky-pants in the state complain about how to pronounce "Athens" or if Garrison Keillor was better??
Dang! Monday's are hard enough as it is!”
Meanwhile, another reaction to last week’s feedback from Tom in Lexington, “ A guy came on there with an absolutely scathing commentary on you guys and your interminable fundraisers. I’m sorry I don’t hear it. I don’t hear you get on there and beg. I mean, I hear a paucity of it, compared to other stations.”
Tom continued, comparing WEKU to an Ohio station he’s listened to, “Compared to them, you guys are nothing. Don’t feel bad about it. I mean, that’s what floats your boat is that trickle of money that comes in from us. So, listen, you guys aren’t bad at all, honestly. What you do with your budget is phenomenal.”
To wrap up today, one more comment in response to last week, “I think he’s completely off base and I hope that you continue on your quest to bring us progressing programming. Thank you.”
By the way, fair warning, we do have a fund drive starting in a couple of weeks but, as always our goal is to keep the on-air portion of it to a minimum.
Thanks to all of you for helping us do so.
We’re glad to hear from you. Write to us any time at: WEKU@eku.edu, post on Facebook or send a tweet @889weku or leave a voice message at 859-622-1657. You can also call 800-621-8890 and follow the instructions you will get.
