Cincinnati Shooting Leaves One Dead, 15 Injured

Police  in Cincinnati continue to investigate a mass shooting at a  nightclub early Sunday morning  WEKU’s Cheri Lawson reports one person was killed and at least 15 were injured.

Gunfire broke out in the early morning hours inside the Cameo Nightclub in Cincinnati’s East End. Police are looking for more than one shooter. 

At a morning press conference Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said, “we are all deeply saddened’ and he asked all of Cincinnati to pray for the victims. “There’s no evidence that this was a terrorist attack like we’ve seen in Miami and many other places. However to the victims what difference does it make? They’ve been  terrorized by gun violence. innocent victims. It’s important for everyone to understand people were just going for a good time and ended up getting shot. That is totally unacceptable.

Cincinnati’s Police Chief Eliot Isaac said the bar was crowded with approximately a couple hundred people. “And what we know at this point in the investigation several local men got into some type of a dispute inside the bar and it escalated into shots being fired from several individuals.”

The man killed was identified as 27 -year-old O’Bryan Spikes . Chief Isaac said one other person was in extremely critical condition and there were several other victims with serious injuries.The investigation is ongoing.
