UAW Extends Contract Talks With Big 3 Automakers

NPR's business news starts in Detroit, where there's still no deal for the UAW.

The United Autoworkers Union has yet to reach an agreement with GM, Chrysler or Ford. Talks are expected to continue today. Workers have agreed to stay on the job, even though their old contracts have expired. Among other demands, the union wants a raise for entry-level workers who now make about $15.00 an hour.
