An Ohio contractor has been awarded a $1.3 million contract to finish painting downtown Frankfort's Singing Bridge, according to the state Transportation Cabinet. The bridge, which dates back to the 1890s, crosses the Kentucky River. The bridge has a metal mesh floor which causes tires on vehicles to make a sing-song noise - hence the name Singing Bridge.

Yesterday I was told I had approximately 20 hours to write an essay: 450 words about National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. I'm quite partial to the event. Still, I thought about declining the essay, given the time constraint.
But then I decided, in the spirit of NaNoWriMo, that it was rather silly to say "oh, I can't write 450 words in less than a day" So here we go:
Gov. Steve Beshear Friday announced Innovative Manufacturing Services Inc. will expand its Glasgow facility, creating 25 new jobs. The company, which makes industrial controls and conveyors for a variety of industries, will invest approximately $710,000 as a result of the expansion.
